Cooking Rice, 2025

This piece depicts a woman cooking rice over an outdoor brick stove. This one goes out to the every day chefs cooking with love and getting food on the table! I love the smell of freshly cooked rice – starchy, nutty, and warm. There are SO many ways to cook rice but there is something that really touches my heart thinking about cooking it outside and in the presence of community.
